About UPA Sydney

The Sydney Chapter of the Usability Professionals’ Association was established in 2007. Thanks to everyone who expressed their support early, got involved, and gave us the motivation to make it happen.

The objectives for the local chapter are helping to raise the profile of usability, providing and supporting professional recognition, creating networking opportunities, providing professional development, and providing a forum for sharing our experiences.

The Chapter will no doubt evolve over time. We arrange regular meetings that include speakers, planning sessions, and social events. We plan to work cooperatively with other established organisations to leverage the great events already taking place and provide the most value for our community. Our first event was a joint presentation by UPA Sydney and CHISIG NSW.

This chapter is for you – and we will continually solicit your input and seek your involvement.  As an entirely volunteer-run organisation, we need people to assist in the myriad of small tasks necessary to run a professional association. For as little as a few hours per month, you can provide a valuable service to your colleagues in the Usability community and ensure the vitality of UPA Sydney. Please consider getting involved, both as a member and as a volunteer.

Help us to make UPA Sydney a success!
