We are pleased to announce the new 2009/10 UPA Sydney Chapter committee executive which was elected on 10 September 2009.
The new committee members are:
President - Lisa Herrod
Lisa is the Principal User Experience consultant at Scenario Seven (www.scenarioseven.com.au) with over ten years of hands-on experience on the web. She has a background in standards-focused design and development, and for the past six years her work has centred on design research, usability, accessibility and user experience strategy. Lisa believes in an inclusive, holistic approach to user experience design that permeates every layer of a site and every role on a team.
Vice President - Tym Lawrence
For over a dozen years, Tym has been involved in information architecture, user experience and interface design for web sites, online application and desktop software. In addition to working with vendors, Tym has experience representing the business, using skills such as online strategy, product management and web production. Tym also has interest in web development processes & methodologies including agile (Scrum) and user centred design.
Secretary - Dean Wood
Dean Wood has over 14 years experience in the usability field, having worked on projects for many Australian corporate organisations, as well as international organisations such as the United Nations. He worked with The Hiser Group for 11 years and is now an independent consultant. Since going independent, Dean has worked with NSW Department of Education & Training, as well as organisations in the private sector.
Treasurer - The treasurer position is currently vacant.
